After many years of concentrated work in the fields of editing, translation and communication, long-time friends Inês Hugon and Sofia Söndergaard have joined forces to pool their professional expertise and long experience in a new venture. Based in Lisbon, they now provide editorial and translation services of outstanding quality to clients both in Portugal and abroad.
Inês Hugon
Graduate in History of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa (FCSH – Faculty of Social and Human Sciences) and the University of Leicester, Postgraduate Certificate in Storytelling (ESCS – Higher School of Social Communication / SP Television), Inês Hugon began her professional life as editorial coordinator of schoolbook publishing in Texto Editores (now Leya). She co-founded Tinta-da-China Editions in 2005, where she headed the editorial production team for more than ten years.
Sofia Söndergaard
Graduate in Modern Languages and Literature of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa (FCSH – Faculty of Social and Human Sciences), post-graduate certificate in Management at the Catholic University of Lisbon, with a Master’s in African Studies at ISCSP (Institute of Social and Political Sciences, Lisbon), Sofia Söndergaard lived in Mozambique from 2003 to 2011, where she worked with a number of NGOs (Leigos para o Desenvolvimento, We Effect, Estamos – Organização Comunitária, Concern Universal) and with SIDA (Swedish International Development Agency). She has more than 25 years’ experience in the areas of editorial coordination, written translation and simultaneous translation.
